Occupational Work Experience Invitation

Contractors - Here is a great opportunity to step in and recruit and assist the tradespeople coming into our workforce this next spring.

Please take a look and consider this opportunity or pass it to another builder partner who may be interested in bringing new people into the trades.

Flint Hills Area Builders Association has been a long term Partner in Education with Manhattan Area Technical College. We also provide input on their Construction Technology Program Advisory Committee.

The class instructor, Ed Zahler, has put together an Occupational Work Experience opportunity for our Builders and Industry members and we are looking to place some student on your team on Fridays from October 17 - December 11. Please read his invitation below to our members, and reach out to him directly for additional information if you would be willing to be involved.

Occupational Work Experience Invitation

Contractors and Related Industry Partners,

I’m reaching out from Manhattan Area Technical College to introduce a new opportunity to collaborate with our Construction Technologies program through our Occupational Work Experience (OWE) course.

This stand-alone class is designed to give our carpentry students real-life, hands-on experience by working directly with local contractors like you. Here are the key details:

- Schedule: On Fridays, from October17 – December 11

- Hours: Aligned with your company’s regular workday

- Format: Students will join your crew and work alongside your employees

- Commitment: Each student will stay with your company for the full term

This is a great opportunity to evaluate a potential future employee while helping train the next generation of skilled tradespeople. A newgroup of students will be available each term, offering ongoing opportunities to participate.

If you're interested or have questions, I’d be happy to talk more about how this can benefit your team.

Thank you for considering this partnership!

Best regards,

Ed Zahler
